The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has decided upon new regulations that will replace regulations issued by the former authorities, Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate (SKIFS) and the Swedish Radiation Protection Authority (SSI FS).
The content of the regulations SSMFS 2008:3 – 2008:53 are identically worded as in SKIFS and SSI FS with the exception of the names of the previous authorities has been changed into “Swedish Radiation Safety Authority”. In three of the regulations new items has been added.
- SSMFS 2008:1 formerly SKIFS 2004:1 has been audited
- SSMFS 2008:2 a new regulation about exceptions from the act on nuclear activities.
- SSMFS 2008:14 formerly SSI FS 2005:4 new laser regulation.
For the time being only a few of the Regulations has been translated to English:

SSMFS 2008:7 The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority’s Regulations concerning Exemptions from the Requirement for Approval of Contractors
